Golden Knights Renovating Practice Facility, Adding Team Museum

The Golden Knights' practice facility, City National Arena, is "getting a makeover this offseason that will include the addition of a team museum displaying trophies and artifacts from their historical inaugural season," according to Jesse Granger of the LAS VEGAS SUN. Paintings of "special moments" from the first season and "depictions of castles and other knight-themed paintings" will cover the walls. On the facility's second floor, team officials plan to "build a museum" which will "house trophies, memorabilia and artifacts for fans to explore." While the museum will "take longer to construct," all other aspects of the facility's renovations are "expected to be ready by the Vegas Rookie Faceoff," held at the arena Sept. 8-11. Golden Knights Senior VP & CMO Brian Killingsworth said that there also will be "castle-like, fabricated elements around the scoreboards to bring the atmosphere closer to that of T-Mobile Arena." The entrance to the Golden Knights' team store will be "reimagined, and floors on the second floor will be marbled black and gold." The team is also "extending its corporate office space on the other side of the rink and adding a 'viewing perch' for sponsors to watch practice" (LAS VEGAS SUN, 8/6).
