Latest eMLS Event Draws FIFA Personalities, Notable Celebs

MLS held the latest iteration of its esports efforts in Atlanta yesterday prior to its All-Star Game with an event called the eMLS All-Star Challenge. The eight-team tournament, featuring eMLS players, FIFA 18 personalities and celebs such as Landon Donovan and rapper Waka Flocka Flame, had a peak of more than 52,000 viewers on Twitch, making it the second-highest-viewed broadcast on the streaming platform during its roughly 1:00-4:00pm ET window. The figure also represents a more than 75% viewership growth compared to eMLS’s most recent club competition, the eMLS Cup that was held in April. It also makes it one of the most-watched FIFA 18 events of the year thus far. EA and FIFA will host its eWorld Cup Grand Final this weekend in London, which will also stream on Twitch and various other platforms across the world.
