Audi Re-Ups With MLS, Keeps Title Sponsorship Of Playoffs

Per the terms of the deal, Audi will also remain the title sponsor of the MLS Cup playoffsGETTY IMAGES

MLS and Audi have signed a multiyear extension to keep the company as the league’s official automotive partner. Audi will also remain the title sponsor of the MLS Cup playoffs, as well as continue its Audi Player Index, which provides real-time statistical analysis for all MLS matches. Audi, which became a league partner in ’15, has partnerships with 10 MLS clubs, including the naming rights to the newly opened DC United stadium. Audi will also air MLS-themed commercials during nationally televised games on ESPN, Fox and Univision, including tomorrow night's All-Star Game. Audi is hosting players and fans this week in Atlanta in advance of the All-Star Game, where people can test drive new Audi Sport models at the Porsche Experience Center. The automaker also is partnering with MLS and Univision to conduct a watch-and-win sweepstakes where viewers can text to win an Audi A3. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the partnership is viewed as one of the largest in MLS and one of Audi's largest U.S. sports marketing expenditures.
