PRESIDENT TRUMP "jokingly lamented" that his daughter IVANKA's marriage to JARED KUSHNER "blocked him from having" TOM BRADY as his son-in-law. Sources said that Trump "cracked several times that he 'could have had Tom Brady.” Trump: “Instead, I got Jared Kushner” (NYPOST.com, 7/28).

ON THE BIG SCREEN: A documentary on former MLBer CHIEN-MING WANG was "featured at the Asian-American International Film Festival" last night at the Village East Cinema in N.Y. FRANK CHEN produced the 99-minute documentary, titled “LATE LIFE: THE CHIEN-MING WANG STORY." Wang was scheduled to be at the premiere, and is also "scheduled to throw out the first pitch" tonight at a Single-A New York-Penn League Staten Island Yankees game. Chen "followed Wang through 21 cities in making the film, which will have a small theatrical release in New York in mid-October" (N.Y. TIMES, 7/28).

NAMES: Senior EPL club execs have "made informal approaches" to BT Group CEO GAVIN PATTERSON as a "potential new head" of the league. IN MEMORY: CLARK BOOTH, a former TV sports reporter for Boston-based WCVB-ABC, "died Friday in his New Smyrna Beach, Fla., home" at 79. He "widely roamed Boston's sports, news, and features landscapes for 55 years." Former Bruins VP/Media Relations NATE GREENBERG said, "Clark was the gold standard for reporting -- as well-rounded a reporter as anyone" (BOSTON GLOBE, 7/29).
