Buyers & Sellers: Mario Lemieux Selling Quebec Home For $22M

Penguins co-Owner MARIO LEMIEUX has listed his château-style home in Quebec for $22M. The "exact asking price" for the property is $21,999,066, to reflect Lemieux's jersey number 66. The property, which is named Fleur de Lys, is "on the flank of Canada's Mont Tremblant, a ski resort, and overlooks Lake Tremblant." The house is "around 17,000 square feet with 50 rooms." It has "17 fireplaces, a home theater, a pool and spa, a paddle tennis court, a gym, a wine cellar and a two-bedroom guesthouse." Lemieux and his wife NATHALIE "purchased the land" around '07, and "moved into the home" in '12 (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 7/27).

MALIBU'S MOST WANTED: Gold Medal-winning U.S. sprinter MICHAEL JOHNSON purchased a contemporary home in Malibu for $5.825M. The half-acre property, which "overlooks the ocean," has a "sleek open floor plan." Within 4,500 square feet of interior space are "four bedrooms and 5.25 bathrooms." Outside, a "beamed patio hangs over an infinity-edge swimming pool and spa." The space "extends outward to an ocean-facing deck with one of the property's two fire pits" (LATIMES.com, 7/19)....Fox Sports' CHARISSA THOMPSON is selling her three-story contemporary home in Malibu for $2.995M. Within 1,646 square feet, there are "three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, an open-plan living room, a chef's kitchen and a family room." Spanish tile "draws the eye in the kitchen, on the stairs and around the fireplaces." Thompson bought the property "about two years ago" (LATIMES.com, 7/22).

TRADE DEADLINE DEALS: Former MLBer JOSH BECKETT purchased a home in Manhattan Beach, Calif., for $2.6M. The two-story home, built in '63 and "recently remodeled," has "three bedrooms, two bathrooms and nearly 1,500 square feet of living space." Features "include wide-plank wood floors, custom lighting, a chef's kitchen with a breakfast bar and a master suite with a walk-in closet." There are also "oceans views from living and dining rooms, which share a fireplace" (LATIMES.com, 7/25)....Former MLBer JERMAINE DYE has sold his Tuscan-style villa in San Diego for $4.1M. Dye last year "sold a Spanish-style spread" in Poway, Calif., for $2.85M. Set on a three-acre lot, the 6,655-square-foot home is "perched high above its neighbors in the Santaluz golf course community" (LATIMES.com, 7/26).
