THE OKLAHOMA DAILY's Kegan Reneau reported the Univ. of Oklahoma's "switch to Jordan Brand" is worth nearly $70M with bonuses. Under the revised deal, OU's "supplied product limit for apparel and product increases" $6.1M from '17-18 to '23-34, with the "total supplied product limit for the life of the Jordan Brand deal" at $49.4M. OU will receive $19.6M in "compensation for the brand switch" (OUDAILY.com, 7/26).

SHOWTIME IN HOLLYWOOD: CBSSPORTS.com's Pete Blackburn noted the new Lakers jerseys "aren't set to be formally unveiled" until July 30, but sporting goods chain Modell's "tweeted a picture of the jerseys on a sales rack" this week. The jerseys are "very similar" to the Showtime Lakers look, though they are "not exact replicas." There "appear to be some minor tweaks -- including with the collar, the shadowing and the shade of yellow used in the uniform." The new jerseys "appear to be much brighter." The Lakers are "reportedly set to unveil purple and white versions" of the jerseys as well (CBSSPORTS.com, 7/26).

NO TOUCHING: During the World Cup in Russia, contactless payments accounted for 45% of all Visa purchases in the 11 host cities. Fans from Poland made the most of the contactless purchasing options in-stadium, making 74% of Visa transactions using contactless technology. Visa partnered with more than 500 issuers and 40 merchants in 24 languages on a variety of FIFA-related activities (Visa).
