Ticketmaster Continues Strong Year With More Growth In Q2

Ticketmaster in its Q2 continued its growth run of the past year, with gross transaction value, revenue and operating income all up by low double-digit percentages compared to the same quarter last year. The figures, part of quarterly earnings reported by parent company Live Nation, follow Ticketmaster posting the highest-performing quarter in company history during Q1. Ticketmaster said it also has now installed its Presence digital and identity-based ticketing system in 125 venues, with 75 more planned for the duration of ’18, and plans to be able to reach 60 million fans with the technology by ’19. “As we get the data from the digital ticketing in terms of who the individuals are, their behavior, that has a substantial unlocking of the marketing on both the Ticketmaster and the concert side, and also provides substantially more value for our sponsors in terms of their ability to understand who exactly they’re engaging with,” Live Nation President Joe Berchtold said. “I don’t think we’re ready yet to declare the timing on those benefits. But there’s no question that those benefits will be an important driver of our business in years to come.”
