Cuban went to Hawaii to cage dive with sharks, some of them being as long as 8-10 feetDISCOVERY

Discovery's “Shark Week” continued last night with an appearance by Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN, as regulars from ABC's “Shark Tank” pitched each other on their charities of choice to receive $50,000 related to shark conservation. Cuban went to Hawaii to cage dive with sharks, some 8-10 feet long, and joked, “Is it okay if I tell everybody they’re like 20-30 feet?” His charity, Shark Allies, was not the winning pitch. It would have used the $50,000 to lobby states to outlaw “finning,” in which shark fins are removed and the animal is thrown back in the water to die. Cuban: “We’ll be able to change the laws so that sharks can survive, so that the ecology won’t change. This is important” (“Shark Tank Meets Shark Week,” Discovery, 7/25).
