Nike, Alaska Airlines, Durant Hold Event For High School Hoops Players

Warriors F Kevin Durant, Alaska Airlines and Nike created an experiential marketing event for 80 West Coast high school basketball players yesterday when Durant surprised the young players on Alaska Airlines "Flight 35," a Durant-branded Boeing 737 that went into market during the Western Conference Finals and will be in fleet for six months. Prior to boarding in L.A. and Oakland, Durant surprised the kids at the gate by leading the gate announcements. Once on board, Durant spoke with each of the teams. Yesterday also marked a celebration for the launch of Durant's latest Nike shoe, the KD11, which all kids received a pair of for an upcoming tournament. Durant, Nike and Alaska Airlines also built out a space at the gate for all passengers to enjoy during their layover including a breakfast bar, DJ, KD11 custom product display and a lacing/personalization station (THE DAILY).
