Craftsman Returning To NASCAR As Sponsor With Joe Gibbs Racing

Joe Gibbs Racing today announced that primary sponsor Stanley Black & Decker is having its Craftsman brand re-enter NASCAR following a prolonged period of being out of the sport. Black & Decker has mainly been promoting its Dewalt tools brand in NASCAR in recent years. The company acquired the Craftsman brand from Sears for $900M in March '17. For the rest of this season, Craftsman will run four primary paint schemes on Ryan Preece’s No. 18 Toyota in the Xfinity Series, as well as four primary paint schemes on Erik Jones’ No. 20 Toyota in the Monster Energy Cup Series. Craftsman will also roll out a promotional campaign in conjunction with the re-entry into NASCAR, where it used to have an iconic presence as entitlement sponsor of the Truck Series from '96-08. Dewalt will still run some primary paint schemes on Jones’ No. 20 the rest of the season.
