Facility Notes

Las Vegas Stadium Authority officials said the work on the Raiders' new stadium is "on time and on budget." LVSA officials and Raiders execs also said that sales of PSLs are "going better than expected." Raiders President Marc Badain added that the team is in the "second of three phases of PSL sales." In Las Vegas, Richard Velotta notes LVSA board members on Thursday "approved the Raiders' PSL marketing plan" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 7/20).

GETTING CLOSE: Rangers officials announced that the Texas Live! entertainment development accompanying Globe Life Field, is "expected to open, as scheduled," on Aug. 9. In Dallas, Evan Grant noted the Rangers and Cordish Cos. "expect all retail and dining tenants to be in place for the opening." While the retail outlets have "mostly yet to be realized," the restaurants will include ones from Pro Football HOFer Troy Aikman and Baseball HOFer Ivan Rodriguez. At the center of the plaza, which will be "flanked by six 62-foot high media posts with screens, there will be a splash fountain" (DALLASNEWS.com, 7/19).

ON A MISSION: In Annapolis, Bill Wagner noted Navy is currently constructing the Physical Mission Center "as an addition to Ricketts Hall." The new facility will feature 25,000 square feet of "interactive exhibit space and will celebrate the storied history of Navy athletics while simultaneously serving as a testament to the academy’s commitment to the physical development of the entire Brigade of Midshipmen." Navy AD Chet Gladchuk said that all the displays and technology contained within the Physical Mission Center will "educate young men and women about the Naval Academy and the opportunities it presents" (Annapolis CAPITAL, 7/19).
