Former DC United President of Business Operations TOM HUNT will join the NBA Kings as Exec VP/Business Operations, according to Olivia Rockeman of the SACRAMENTO BUSINESS JOURNAL. Hunt's role with the Kings is a "newly created position," though he previously worked with the team from '05-11 as Senior VP/Corporate Partnerships. After leaving the Kings, Hunt "worked at Monumental Sports & Entertainment before joining DC United" in '14. Hunt's departure "comes just days after DC United played its first game at the newly opened Audi Field" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/18). PRO SOCCER USA's Emily Olsen noted Hunt "came under scrutiny as tensions rose between" DC United and two of its three supporters groups. But his move reportedly was "not a result of the rising tensions." DC United also announced that The Football League Head of Communications CHRIS HULL will "join the club" as a Senior Advisor/Communications & Business Operations this week. Hull has "been with the club for the last two weeks helping with the opening of Audi Field," newly signed F Wayne Rooney and an "influx of media" (PROSOCCERUSA.com, 7/18).
