Digital Sports Media Continues Year-Long Run Of Growth In June

The digital sports media category in June continued its extended growth run compared to much of ’16 and ’17, posting a total of 181.6 million unique visitors, according to monthly comScore rankings of multiplatform digital reach, up 4.3% from the same month last year. Average consumption during the month for sports content was 97.3 minutes per user, also up by 10%. The growth continues a trend of rising comScore figures that dates to arrival of the ’17 football season last fall. ESPN led the sports category during June with a reach total of 73.3 million unique visitors and consumption totals of 4.53 billion minutes overall and 61.8 minutes per user.

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft
