Red Bulls Putting Finishing Touches On Club's First Mobile App
The Red Bulls are launching the club’s first ever mobile app this week. The app, which will be available for both iPhone and Android devices, was developed by Venuetize, who recently developed an app for fellow MLS club LAFC. Red Bulls Senior Dir of Content & Communications Jayne Bussman-Wise said the club has been working on the app for some time, recently running focus groups with fans to test the app and see what other features they wanted as it was developed. The app will look to serve both fans at Red Bull Arena as well as at home. Users will be able to scan, buy and share tickets through the app and will have contextual features for when they are at Red Bull Arena. That includes seating maps, directions around the stadium and the ability to express order concessions via Appetize. The app also will provide access to the club’s news, photos and videos that appear on its other digital channels, as well as access to its radio broadcasts and a weather widget. Bussman-Wise said the Red Bulls are now looking into ways that it can further integrate its partners into functions within the app, such as sponsoring certain features or even creating new content. The weather widget will be presented by Visit St. Pete, who is a marketing partner of the club. The Red Bulls will roll out the app to fans this week, backed by a full-service marketing campaign that centers around an animated video showing off its features narrated by team play-by-play announcer Steve Cangialosi. The video will run online as pre-roll on videos, on MSG broadcasts and will be shared on the club’s digital channels. “For any fan, there’s a million places they can get information; we want to make it really easy for them,” said Bussman-Wise.
