Mitsubishi Motors Signs On As Title Sponsor For Las Vegas Bowl

Mitsubishi Motors has "signed on as the title sponsor of the Las Vegas Bowl for the next two bowls," according to Bill Bradley of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. The bowl went "without a sponsor last year after Geico was a presenting sponsor" in '16 after Royal Purple "owned the naming rights" from '13-15. Entering its 27th edition, the Las Vegas Bowl is in its "penultimate year at Sam Boyd Stadium and will move the Raiders’ stadium" in '20 (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 7/13). In Las Vegas, Alan Snel noted this marks the "first college bowl game title sponsorship for Mitsubishi." The bowl game has had a long history of "car-related title sponsors," as it was called the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas from '09-12 prior to Royal Purple's arrival. Other title sponsorships have been with Sega and Pioneer (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 7/12). College football reporter Brett McMurphy first reported the Mitsubishi news earlier this week.
