NASCAR's Chase Elliott Adds To Portfolio With Untuckit Deal

NASCAR driver Chase Elliott is starting to rack up a bevy of trendy brands to be associated with. The pilot of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 9 Chevy recently unveiled a new partnership with the Untuckit clothing company. He also has partnerships with Hooters, NAPA Auto Parts and Under Armour. Elliott, who is repped by Fuel Sports Management Group and is seen as a favorite to succeed Dale Earnhardt Jr. as NASCAR's most popular driver, said he tries to "stay as natural as I can" when it comes to developing his brand. He said, "Untuckit is another one of those brands who I feel like I fit in with -- I’m a guy where I don’t tuck in my shirt a lot (laughs)." Elliott also became an investor in Untuckit as part of his deal with them. Saints QB Drew Brees last month also became an investor and endorser of Untuckit. Elliott: "When you have partners who you naturally get along with, whether drink their product or eat their product or live the lifestyle they push for, it just makes things easier and that’s been great for me. NAPA being an auto parts store and driving race cars -- it fits pretty well. I’ve been lucky. Not only that, but a lot of these companies are based in Atlanta, which is not far from me at all, so it’s been good.” Hendrick Motorsports yesterday announced a two-year extension with Mountain Dew to continue sponsoring Elliott's No. 9 Chevy (Adam Stern, Staff Writer).

PAYING TRIBUTE: NBCSPORTS.com's Dustin Long reported Elliott will honor his late cousin Casey Elliott by "having a paint scheme Casey raced in 1993 as his throwback paint scheme" for the Bojangles Southern 500 on Sept. 2. The "yellow NAPA car" is similar to what Casey Elliott drove during two races in the now Xfinity Series in '93. Casey Elliott also "ran in the Slim Jim All-Pro Series full-time." He died from cancer in '96 (NBCSPORTS.com, 7/11).
