Excel Sports Management named Premier Partnerships Exec VP JASON MILLER Senior VP & Head of Property Sales. He will lead Excel's efforts in third-party commercial sales, naming rights, marquee partnerships, sponsorship strategy and valuation services for leagues, teams, venues and other sports properties. Excel Properties clientele includes four NBA teams (Excel Sports Management).

EXECS: Mariners Exec VP & GM JERRY DIPOTO has signed a multiyear contract extension. Dipoto had "been in the final year" of a three-year deal that he was given when he replaced JACK ZDURIENCIK in September '15 (SEATTLETIMES.com, 7/6)....MLB Cardinals VP/Communications RON WATERMON has left the team to form a communications company named Brand Journalism Strategies. He also plans to write a book and teach (Cardinals)....Puma Global Dir of Corporate Communications ULF SANTJER is leaving the company at the end of the month. Santjer joined Puma in '97 and will be replaced by KERSTIN NEUBER, who will fill the newly formed position of Senior Head of Communications. She has been with the company since '07 and will report to Puma Global Dir of Brand Marketing ADAM PETRICK (Puma).
