Media Notes

DIGIDAY's Tim Peterson noted the NFL is "looking to grow its content library," not only to feed its associated social accounts, but to "produce more programming for its own media properties." The NFL's Live Content Correspondent program, in its second year, "embeds freelance photographers and videographers with each of the league's teams" in the 30 U.S. markets, plus London. This season, the NFL will "double the number of correspondents for the upcoming season to 64 people, including two in London, to multiply the amount of content produced beyond the 30,000 photos and videos captured" last season for the league's content library (DIGIDAY.com, 7/6).

PAPAL BULLETIN: In Newark, James Kratch notes WFAN's Mike Francesa yesterday tweeted that his "much-hyped 'Mike's On' app will launch on Friday, August 24, the same day he will have his annual remote broadcast from Bar Anticipation in Lake Como." Francesa has wanted the app to launch "in time for the fall and the start of the NFL and college football seasons" (NJ.com, 7/8).

BOMBS AWAY: In Winnipeg, Paul Friesen noted during the CFL's first "live mic" game of the season, Blue Bombers QB Chris Streveler was "caught using F-bombs." TSN said that this "shouldn't have happened," as the "'bleep' button didn't work, even with a 10-second delay in the broadcast." TSN added that they have "examined the problem to ensure it won't happen again" (WINNIPEG SUN, 7/7).
