Media Notes

In L.A., Bill Shaikin noted for the second consecutive year, the Dodgers and Charter have "added a late-season package of games" to KTLA-CW. This year's package includes "five games -- four in August, one in September." The games will be "simulcasts of the SportsNet LA broadcasts." In four of the five seasons since SportsNet L.A. premiered in '14, the Dodgers have "aired a small selection of games on free television" (L.A. TIMES, 7/4).

NUMBAH ONE: WFAN's Mike Francesa said that he "plans to launch his much-anticipated 'Mike's On' app at the end of August." In Newark, James Kratch noted Francesa had promised the app would "become available before the start of the fall and football season." Francesa has "made it very clear one of, and perhaps the main, driving reasons behind his decision to return to WFAN was the ability to have synergy between his on-air show, the station and the app, which he and sports and entertainment agency CAA will be launching along with the FAN." Francesa has said that his Sunday NFL show will be "streamed exclusively on the app (it will also carry his daily show), and he wants to do more with audio and video" (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 7/4).

CHANGING TEAMS: Kevin Duffy, who has covered the Patriots for MassLive.com for the past four years, has been "named to lead the Boston Herald’s Patriots beat." He will "begin his duties Monday" (BOSTONHERALD.com, 7/5).
