Horschel's Ralph Lauren Octopus-Print Design Returning This Year

Horschel’s collection is characterized by sophisticated pieces built with high-performance materialsbilly horschel

Golfer Billy Horschel made headlines when he wore a pair of octopus-printed pants at the '13 U.S. Open, and this fall the design "returns as part of a collaborative collection with Ralph Lauren," according to Brentley Romine of GOLFWEEK.com. The collection "highlights Horschel’s style on the course through knitwear, layering pieces, outerwear, pants and shorts for men and women." Horschel, a Ralph Lauren ambassador since '11, had a "major role in the creation." He spent hours "going over colors and designs." After the PGA Championship last August, Horschel traveled to N.Y. to "meet with the Ralph Lauren design team." Horschel’s collection is "characterized by sophisticated and sensible pieces built with high-performance materials." The color palette is based on "bright blue and pink, and offset by neutral accents." Each item in the collection has its "own unique hangtag, and each knitwear piece includes Horschel’s logo on the back." Horschel will "debut select looks from the collection" at next month's PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. The octopus pants -- or shorts, rather -- will be "worn by Horschel in Wednesday’s practice round" (GOLFWEEK.com, 7/3).
