Jaguars Will Offer Only 250 Tickets For Stadium's New Dog Park

Only about 250 tickets for Pet Paradise Park -- the planned dog park at Jaguars' TIAA Bank Field -- will be "available over the course of the season," according to Beth Reese Cravey of the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION. Through a partnership between Jacksonville-based Pet Paradise and the Jaguars, the park will "welcome dogs owned by season ticket holders selected in an application process and by winners of Pet Paradise’s new Top Dog sweepstakes and an auction benefiting the Jacksonville Humane Society." Pet Paradise CEO Fernando Acosta-Rua said that the season-long auction is "expected to raise about $50,000 for the Humane Society." The park, in the south end zone, will "open for the first Jaguars preseason game" against the Saints on Aug. 9.  The park will be on the "south end zone patio of the stadium, directly above the Fields Auto Group Terrace Suite." It will feature a "large artificial-turf play area, bone-shaped swimming pool, palm trees and a web camera for people to log on and watch live footage of park activities." Pet owners selected to "bring their dogs pay no additional fees." They can "enjoy the game from their seats or on the patio near the park." Before visiting, "all dogs must visit a Pet Paradise location to preregister during a free Get-Acquainted Day" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 6/29).
