In Detroit, Bill Shea reports the Pistons' NBA 2K League PistonsGT has "inked one-year corporate sponsorship deals with the new consumer-facing arm of Pontiac-based United Shore Financial Services," as well as with a couple of real estate agents. The PistonsGT team "wears jerseys with United Shore's FindAMortgageBroker.com branding across the chest during its matches that are streamed online as part of the NBA 2K League that launched in the spring." The deal also has the FindAMortgageBroker.com logo "appear in the on-court apron signs displayed on the team's virtual home court during games." The mortgage business will also "own the 'Uncut Gaming' digital content series" (CRAINSDETROIT.com, 6/26).

FOR A GOOD CAUSE: The Texans have "partnered with Chevron for a five-year commitment that designates the company" as the team's official volunteerism partner. Texans LB Brian Peters, CB Johnathan Joseph, S Kareem Jackson, President Jamey Rootes and mascot Toro "attended an event announcing the partnership Monday." This is the third year that the Texans and Chevron "have worked together" (CHRON.com, 6/26).

GOING PRO: U.S. Olympic hurdler Sydney McLaughlin is "signing a professional contract," forgoing the final three years of her college eligibility at Kentucky. McLaughlin said that she is "still considering the options for sponsorship deals and that she's ended her outdoor track season for this year" (RUNNERSWORLD.com, 6/26).
