Colts Offer Five-Game Package Deals After Season-Ticket Struggles

The Colts are planning new wrinkles to boost fans' enjoyment, both before and during gamesGETTY IMAGES

The Colts are "offering five-game ticket packages for the first time in their recent history after season-ticket renewals declined for the third year in a row," according to the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. The five-game ticket packages are "for upper-level seating only, and a limited supply is available." According to the team, 82% of Colts season-ticket holders from '17 renewed for '18, a decline from the 87% "renewal rate" from '16-17. Colts Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Roger VanDerSnick said that the decline in "season-ticket renewals" came as the team missed the playoffs for the third straight year. The cost of season tickets for the Colts' 10 home games in '18 "ranges from $350 to $1,480," compared to $299-$599 for the five-game packages, which "do not include all the perks given to season ticket holders who commit" to the full 10-game package. VanDerSnick said, "We've got our work cut out for us. ... We're reaching out far more than we've ever reached out in the past." Despite the decline in season-ticket renewals, VanDerSnick said that the Colts had a "healthy increase in new season-ticket buyers this year (1,330), up from 700 first-time season ticket holders" in '17. That represents an opportunity for the team to "build the start of a new season-ticket fan base." The Colts are "planning a few new wrinkles both pregame and during games which they hope will accentuate fans' enjoyment" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 6/26).
