Longtime conservative columnist CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER "died Thursday at age 68 after a lengthy battle with cancer." For the last 10 years of his career, he "often found relief at Nationals Park, which was seven minutes from the Fox News studio in DC." Since baseball returned to DC in '05, Krauthammer every so often would "devote his column in The Washington Post" to baseball. The Nationals "honored Krauthammer, a season-ticket holder, with a moment of silence before Thursday’s game, and described him as 'one of baseball’s greatest fans'" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 6/22). 

NAMES: Patriots S DEVIN MCCOURTY has "called upon" PRESIDENT TRUMP to "help address systematic injustices in the justice system and across American society." McCourty "added his voice to those of his fellow NFL Players Coalition members" who wrote a piece for the N.Y. Times (BOSTONGLOBE.com, 6/21)....Former NFLer CALVIN JOHNSON, along with two friends, has created Locker Room Consulting, which Johnson describes as a “platform for players” that is “by the players, too.” He said, “You hear the statistics about guys that lose their money shortly after their careers (end), they’re going bankrupt and stuff like that. We want to be able to provide advice for these guys and provide opportunities as well, whether we source them ourselves or we create them” (AJC.com, 6/21)....The Swedish Hockey League Frolunda Indians are auctioning off the home and away game-worn jerseys of D RASMUS DAHLIN, the top prospect in the NHL Draft, on eBay (BUFFALO NEWS, 6/22).
