Vikings Requiring Tickets To Attend Training Camp At New Facility

The Vikings will have at least 1,300 general admission seats for each day at the new facilityVIKINGS

The Vikings will "require tickets for fans to attend practices in their first training camp at their new practice facility in Eagan," according to Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. Tickets for the team's first 18 practices will be "available to season ticket-holders on their website" tomorrow. The "general public will have its first crack at tickets" Monday. The team "expects to have 4,000 free general admission seats available each day, as well as another 1,000 reserved seats for $20 apiece." At least 1,300 general admission seats for each day will "still be available when tickets are open to the public Monday." The Vikings will "refund reserved seats and parking passes on days where practice is canceled or moved inside, but because they expect the 90,000 available seats for training camp to sell out, they won't be able to offer exchanges." During training camp, the Vikings' new museum will be "open only to those fans that have tickets for the day's practices" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 6/20). In St. Paul, John Shipley notes although the new arrangement "won't allow fans to spend several days in a row watching the team, the Vikings believe the ticketing -- and the Twin Cities location -- will allow more people to attend." With the four extra days of open practices, the team "anticipates as many as 90,000 will attend this summer." In Mankato, where the Vikings previously held training camps, the team "averaged between 60,000 and 65,000" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 6/20).

FANS FLOCK: Passes to attend Ravens training camp this summer "have been claimed for the 15 sessions open to the public." Practices at the Under Armour Performance Center will "mark the return of fans after construction and parking renovations limited access last summer." The Ravens can now "host nearly 2,000 fans a day to see the open practices." An online reservation system used by the team was on a "first-come, first-serve basis and the digital parking passes were claimed within hours of becoming available Monday" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 6/19).
