Bozoma Saint John Leaves Uber To Become Endeavor CMO

Saint John said she will not just focus on one brand anymore but instead cover lots of other brandsGETTY IMAGES

Uber Chief Brand Officer BOZOMA SAINT JOHN is leaving the ride sharing firm to "become CMO of Endeavor," according to Patrick Coffee of ADWEEK. She will "oversee marketing efforts for the entirety of the holding group," which includes WME, PBR, UFC and ad agency Droga5. Saint John said, "I won’t just focus on one brand anymore; I can cover lots of other brands. Maybe it would scare somebody else, but for me, I run toward this sort of thing." Saint John will "work closely" with Endeavor Global Marketing President ED HORNE to "promote such brands as AB InBev, Visa, Under Armour and DirecTV." Her departure also "marks a significant loss for Uber" (ADWEEK.com, 6/11). RECODE's Kara Swisher noted Saint John has been at Uber for "almost exactly a year." The move is "not surprising, given the many executive changes" under new Uber CEO DARA KHOSROWSHAHI. Saint John was brought in during former CEO TRAVIS KALANICK's tenure by board member ARIANNA HUFFINGTON, but was "never made head of marketing there" (RECODE.net, 6/11).
