Spectrum To Title Sponsor Hornets' 30th Anniversary Celebration

Spectrum's name and logo will be prominently included in the Hornets' 30th anniversary logo

Spectrum will "title sponsor" the marketing and promotional campaign planned for the Hornets' 30th anniversary during the '18-19 season, according to Erik Spanberg of the CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL. Terms "weren’t disclosed," but the agreement is estimated to be in the range of $200,000-500,000. Spectrum, which holds naming rights for the Hornets' arena, will have its name "included in the Hornets’ 30th anniversary logo and receive prominent mention and association with six to eight throwback games next season." Hornets Exec VP & COO Pete Guelli said that a "slew of tie-in events are planned and will be revealed later this summer." A "micro-site online devoted to the anniversary will go live soon, and Spectrum will be featured there and as part of a fan vote to select the Hornets’ all-time team." The anniversary has "given the team another sales platform, including gifts for season-ticket buyers nodding to the late-80s: throwback Starter-brand Hornets jackets, given to anyone renewing or becoming a season-ticket holder" in '18-19 (BIZJOURNALS.com, 6/5).
