Capitals' Stanley Cup Final Watch Party Bodes Well For Mystics

Tickets for Lynx-Mystics before the Capitals' watch party are virtually impossible to findNBAE/GETTY IMAGES

A Stanley Cup Final Game 5 watch party is being held at Capital One Arena tomorrow night, and it "could create one of the wildest crowds" for a WNBA Mystics game in the franchise’s history, according to Scott Allen of the WASHINGTON POST. The Mystics will face the Lynx at 4:00pm ET, with a Capitals watch party "to follow, and many fans began planning for an unlikely doubleheader as the Capitals closed in on their first Stanley Cup." Doors for the Lynx-Mystics game will open at 3:00pm, and tickets to the game "will be free." Monumental Sports & Entertainment said that all tickets already purchased directly from the Mystics "will be automatically refunded; fans who purchased tickets from another source should contact that source directly, but all previously purchased tickets will remain valid for entry." Fans without Mystics tickets who want to attend the watch party, meanwhile, "must RSVP for watch party tickets online." MS&E said that Mystics fans who enter the arena after 3:00pm will be "permitted to remain in their seats for the watch party," although no re-entry "will be permitted." Tickets for the Mystics game will "only be valid for entry during the Mystics game." Upon conclusion of the Mystics game, anyone "wishing to enter the arena must have a ticket for the watch party." On Monday night, as the Capitals closed in on a victory in Game 4 against the Golden Knights, ticket prices for Lynx-Mystics "began to skyrocket." The Mystics only "sell lower-level tickets to their games." By midday yesterday, tickets for tomorrow's contest were "virtually impossible to find" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 6/5).
