Game 2 Audience Mixed Compared To Recent Cavs-Warriors Finals

ABC finished with 18.5 million viewers for Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night, down from Warriors-Cavaliers Game 2 last year (19.69 million viewers), but up from the matchup two years ago (17.49 million viewers). ABC won the night for the 62nd straight night that an NBA Finals matchup aired on the network. The last NBA Finals Game 2 not involving Warriors-Cavs was in ’14, with Spurs-Heat drawing 15.13 million viewers.

DEVICE MEDIA: Data from measurement firm Conviva shows that compared to Game 2 last year, streaming of this year’s matchup saw a 30.4% increase in the Bay Area and a 118.9% uptick in the Cleveland market. Overall, Game 2 streams were up 2.1% compared to Game 2 last year. However, Game 2 this year was viewed on 12.4% fewer unique devices compared to the same matchup in ’17.
