Marketplace Roundup

In Baltimore, Katherine Fominykh reported MLB and the NFL have "both signed on" for the N.Y. Pride March on June 24. This will be the "first time" either league "will participate in the march." The leagues will "join five other participating professional leagues" -- the NBA, WNBA, NHL, NWHL and MLS. Billie Jean King was "named a grand marshal for the parade" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 6/1).

EARNED NOT GIVEN: USA TODAY's Jesse Yomtov reported while first-round QBs can "cash in on endorsement offers, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes chose not to during his first year." Mahomes and his agent Leigh Steinberg "thought it would be a distraction." Steinberg: "We intentionally didn't do endorsements that would run in the Kansas City area even though they were offered. We didn't want him to be on billboards and everything when he wasn't even playing." But this offseason, Mahomes has been "putting himself out there." He recently "made waves by showing up to a NASCAR race in jean shorts" (USATODAY.com, 6/2).

STAYING CLASSY: GOLFWEEK's Martin Kaufmann wrote a new deal between the USGA and Rolex "allows Fox Sports to show" most of its national championships "commercial-free." Kaufmann, on this past weekend's U.S. Women's Open: "We were reminded on occasion that the 'uninterrupted' coverage was presented courtesy of Rolex. But the brand's presence was surprisingly understated throughout the coverage." Fox will "show 'uninterrupted' coverage of the remaining USGA championships, with the exception of the U.S. Open" (GOLFWEEK.com, 6/3).
