Several prominent NBA players and coaches have spoken out against the NRA or in favor of gun controlNBAE/GETTY IMAGES

In S.F., Drew Costley notes the logos of the Warriors and Cavaliers on the New Era-designed NBA Finals hats "obscure part of the letters NBA," and the result is it "looks like the hat is advertising the '2018 NRA Finals.'" Several Twitter users "noticed the unfortunate design on the Finals hats." The design of the hat is "unfortunate because several prominent NBA players and coaches have spoken out against the NRA or spoken in favor of gun control" (SFGATE.com 5/29).

BOOK REPORT: In S.F., John McMurtrie noted there are new "Warriors-themed library cards for the cities of San Francisco and Oakland." The library cards were "designed by the team, to help foster reading among children and families over the summer." The S.F. card "shows a player in midair, ready to take a shot; the Oakland card has a Warrior dribbling against a backdrop of the Bay Bridge" (SFGATE.com, 5/26).

EYEING THE FUTURE: In Michigan, Ryan Zuke noted Volvik's three-year agreement as the title sponsor of the LPGA event in Ann Arbor has "expired." Tournament Dir Keith Karbo said that there were "several representatives from corporate partners in attendance" at this past weekend's event. Karbo said, "We've had a handful of corporate partners already tell us they are returning next year and they want to be a bigger sponsor. We did entertain a couple of key new partners, too who might be potential title sponsors" (MLIVE.com, 5/28).
