Summit League Announces Intent To Move HQ To Sioux Falls

The Summit League intends to "relocate its conference headquarters to Sioux Falls, S.D. from its current location of Elmhurst, Ill.," according to Matt Zimmer of the Sioux Falls ARGUS LEADER. The Summit League President’s Council "unanimously approved the relocation." The conference will "open operations at a temporary location in Sioux Falls on Aug. 1" before moving to its permanent HQ at the Sanford Sports Complex. The move gives the conference office a more "centralized location within its current footprint." The Summit League already has a "strong reputation and following in the region." The conference's men's basketball championship, its "premier event," has "taken place in Sioux Falls each year" since '09. The event has been "shattering attendance records, garnering unprecedented recognition and dramatically elevating the league’s profile" (Sioux Falls ARGUS LEADER, 5/24).
