Sports Business Awards: Golden Knights Win Team Of The Year

Bubolz accepted the award ahead of the Knights hosting Game 1 of the Cup Final next weekMarc Bryan-Brown

Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz said that he has challenged his staff every day to do something different -- it was with that in mind that he delivered a poem while accepting the award for Team of the Year at the '18 Sports Business Awards. With lines ranging from poking fun at the "hockey media experts thought we would be shitty," to their focus on "with great ideas and low ego, Vegas Born was our credo," Bubolz credited Golden Knights VP/Communications & Content Eric Tosi for helping put together what was the latest unexpected thing from a team that has continued to defy any and all expectations for an expansion team. From sold out crowds averaging 104% of capacity all season, leading the league in merchandise sales, delivering a one-of-a-kind in-arena experience, to now hosting Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final next week, Bubolz said, "Everything that we've done is surprising most people."
