Mickelson Endorses Mizzen+Main After Masters Shirt Draws Buzz

Phil Mickelson has "agreed to play while wearing the button-down, long-sleeve, performance-fabric shirt" made by Mizzen+Main that "had the internet buzzing when he donned it for a practice round" at The Masters, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com. Mickelson will wear the shirt "in exchange for an undisclosed stake in the company as well as cash." He said, "I like to be a trendsetter." Mickelson is "expected to wear a long-sleeved dress shirt when he tees off in the second round of The Players Championship on Friday." He has the "short-sleeved option, as well, but plans to wear the company's dress shirts on the course." Mizzen+Main Founder & CEO Kevin Lavelle said that the shirt Mickelson wears on the course "will be the same that the company sells to its customers." The company "has only one other athlete who owns an equity stake," Texans DE J.J. Watt (ESPN.com, 5/9).
