BROADCASTING & CABLE's Jon Lafayette noted Disney is "rolling out a suite of advanced advertising products under the name Luminate." The moniker "symbolizes how ABC, ESPN, Freeform and the company’s other TV networks plan to aim a spotlight on advertisers’ brands, using data and technology to make them shine." Disney/ABC Advertising, Sales & Marketing Senior VP/Audience Solutions Laura Nelson said that the company "worked closely with ESPN from a technology perspective 'to make sure that we can look at all our audiences and sell them in many different ways'" (BROADCASTINGCABLE.com, 5/7).

DRIVE MY CAR: In Des Moines, Aaron Young notes Jimmie Johnson's No. 48 car will "once again feature an Iowa company's logo" for Saturday's KC Masterpiece 400 at Kansas Speedway. For the second straight year, Marshalltown -- an Iowa-based maker of construction tools -- "will be highlighted" on Johnson's car. Marshalltown has "partnered with Lowe's home improvement stores for the last two years, which has increasingly targeted the business of professional contractors" (DES MOINES REGISTER, 5/8).

DOING IT FOR MOM: Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will "release a series of multi-colored 'Mind Over Matter' or 'M.O.M' T-shirts as part of his MindOverMatter campaign, with all proceeds going to the Faith Fight Finish Foundation and Stand Up to Cancer." Prescott's mother, Peggy, "passed away from colon cancer" in November '13. Since then, he has "used his platform as a star athlete to raise awareness of the disease" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 5/8).

SEIZE THE MOMENT: The Angels are commemorating 1B Albert Pujols' 3,000th hit by selling exclusive merchandise at the team's store, including shirts, pins, pennants, can koozies and decals. Additionally, the team is selling a limited-edition collectible coin, and the Angels will also celebrate the milestone with a 3,000 Hits Bobblehead, presented by Interactive Mortgage, on June 2 (Angels).
