Several New Jersey High Schools To Offer On-Demand Video Streaming

Connecticut-based digital video startup LocalLive has struck an agreement with NJ Advance Media, which operates the Newark Star-Ledger and NJ.com, to support live and on-demand video streaming of high school sports in the state. LocalLive and NJ.com are developing a subscription-based service for stream of key high schools in New Jersey, including Don Bosco Prep, Red Bank Catholic, and West Essex. LocalLive’s model is based around permanently installed cameras at participating schools which are then operated remotely. Financial terms were not disclosed, but passes are being sold at $4.99 per day and $10.99 per month. “We immediately saw this as a way to extend our mission and give our avid high school sports audience what it really wants: the ability to watch games they can’t attend themselves,” said NJ Advanced Media VP/Audience Development Lamar Graham.
