Boston Globe's Linda Pizzuti Henry Tops City's Most Influential List

Pizzuti claimed the list's No. 1 ranking in part due to her ability to bring people togetherGETTY IMAGES

Boston Globe Managing Dir LINDA PIZZUTI HENRY, wife of Red Sox Owner JOHN HENRY, considers her "life's work is to make 21st-century Boston one of the greatest cities in the world," according to BOSTON MAGAZINE's list of the 100 most influential people in the city. Pizzuti Henry, who ranks No. 1 on the list, has an "amazing quality where she doesn’t have that neurotic desire for perfection that holds a lot of people back." One part of her "brilliance is bringing people together." Patriots President JONATHAN KRAFT ranks 12th, and "not to take anything away" from his father, Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT, but the "true power behind the throne is now his son." Robert Kraft still gets "plenty of camera time at the Super Bowl, but Jonathan’s cell number is the one you want in your contacts." DraftKings co-Founder & CEO JASON ROBINS came in at No. 36, as it seems he has "realized the importance of building relationships -- and influence -- in his headquarter city." He is the "head of what’s arguably the most important consumer-tech company in town." New Balance Chair JIM DAVIS comes in at No. 53. His decision to "build a new corporate headquarters and help fast-track a rail station in Brighton is among the most significant neighborhood-redevelopment projects in memory." Boston Athletic Association CEO TOM GRILK, who ranks 70th, is now "fully devoted to the organization in charge of the Boston Marathon -- always an important job, but increasingly so" since the '13 bombings. Red Sox President & CEO SAM KENNEDY ranks No. 98, as he "holds the happiness and well-being of the entire Sox Nation in his hands; he’s also proving to be an involved civic leader." Rounding out the list at number 100 is Patriots QB TOM BRADY (BOSTON magazine, 05/'18 issue).
