Raiders' $100M Mixed-Use Facility To Have Field, Offices, Possibly HOF

Raiders President Marc Badain said that the team is "still exploring ideas for what to include" in its $100M HQ and practice facility, according to Richard Velotta of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. Badain said that the Henderson, Nev., facility "would have executive offices and an indoor practice facility that wouldn't be used for competitive games, but an outdoor field that could." He added that it is "possible the facility would house the Raiders hall of fame to celebrate the franchise's rich history." The team is "certain a residential development won't be a part of the 55-acre mixed-use complex." Henderson Mayor Debra March said that she is "hopeful there would be additional retail or commercial development, possibly a hotel" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW JOURNAL, 5/3). In Las Vegas, Mick Akers notes the land deal with Henderson "will be finalized in June," and the Raiders also still "need to hire a construction company." Badain said of a Raiders HOF, "We've wanted to do one for decades. What you see at the preview center is sort of a tease. It will teach people about the history of the organization, players, coaches and games that we've been a part of. All of the hall of famers. We have one of the more robust histories in the NFL ... and we need someplace to display all that" (LASVEGASSUN.com, 5/3).
