MLS Commissioner Don Garber during his annual visit to Minnesota United said, "Allianz Field is spectacular. It's an architectural wonder, and I love the fact that it can be branded to different themes and different opportunities throughout the year with the different LED lighting. ... It will be iconic for our league, and I think it will be iconic for our sport." Garber added, "We will undoubtedly host lots of games here (at Allianz Field) outside of league games, whether those are All-Star games or whether that is CONCACAF Gold Cup matches or other international matches, U.S. men's and women's national team games" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 4/27).

NEW TO BREW CITY: NBA Commissioner Adam Silver toured the Bucks' new arena and said the "exterior is beautiful." Silver: "Architecturally, aesthetically, it fits really well within the community. ... It's fantastic. Unique sight lines. Very open, clean sight lines. You can see into the corners from anywhere in the arena" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 4/27).

EXTREME MAKEOVER: In Richmond, Michael Phillips reports Richmond Raceway is "bulldozing several infield structures" to make way for its new $30M Richmond Raceway Reimagined project. Longtime racing reporter Randy Hallman "took the first swing" with a sledgehammer to begin tearing down the "existing media center" (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 4/27).
