Fox Sports' Kristine Leahy Leaving "The Herd" For Her Own Show

"The Herd" co-host Kristine Leahy announced she is leaving the Fox Sports Radio/FS1 program for her own show "starting at the end of the summer." Leahy during yesterday's edition of "The Herd" told host Colin Cowherd he took a "huge risk" on her, and "I just can't thank you enough." Leahy to Cowherd, "You allowed me to be me and that's all I really want to be on TV. I wouldn't have this opportunity now without you" ("The Herd," Fox Sports Radio, 4/25). A Fox Sports spokesperson said that Leahy's show is "tentatively scheduled to be a 30-minute daily weekday afternoon program, the specifics of which are still up in the air." Leahy has been part of "The Herd," providing "news updates along with occasional banter" with Cowherd, since the show launched in its current format in September '15 (THEBIGLEAD.com, 4/25).

DYNAMIC DUO: ESPN's Tony Kornheiser said Pablo Torre and Bomani Jones would be a "natural fit" to take over "PTI" when he and co-host Michael Wilbon decide to leave the show. He said they both are "very smart" and called Torre "brilliant and nice." Kornheiser: "Although there is an enormous age gap between Pablo and I, I really do like doing the show with Pablo. He’s really great." He noted Torre and Jones are set to debut on their own show later this year, and he said, "They're going to do a live show for an hour. Most of the people who know them will say an hour can't even contain them." He added, "It's going to be entertaining, because they're really smart and really interested in whatever is going on" ("The Tony Kornheiser Show," ESPN Radio, 4/25).
