Super Bowl, CFP Help StubHub To Strong Revenue, Sales Growth In Q2

StubHub during its Q2 ended March 31 generated $232M in revenue, up 9% from the comparable period last year, and $1B in gross sales, up 13%, according to earnings released by corporate parent eBay. The gains were fueled in part by record sales for Super Bowl LII in early February, strong activity during the College Football Playoff and international growth. eBay President & CEO Devin Wenig during an earnings call with analysts likened the company’s new contract with the NFL to be the league’s authorized secondary ticket partner to its long-term relationship with MLB. “It’s a similar arrangement where we’re partnered with the league and what we’re getting is a high-quality supply and a great fan experience through integration,” Wenig said. He projected the NFL deal would be “slightly positive to growth and slightly negative to expenses [for eBay] because we’re obviously paying a share for those integrated tickets.”
