Walter (l) co-owns an $85M home in Malibu that the SEC is reportedly interested inGETTY IMAGES

The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Baer & Patrick cite sources as saying that the SEC has "opened an investigation into Guggenheim Partners LLC’s asset-management arm that includes questions" about an $85M home in Malibu, Calif., co-owned by Guggenheim CEO MARK WALTER. Sources said that the SEC has "shown interest in that real-estate transaction and a series of other deals" involving Miami-based ABS Capital Co., which is owned by two former Guggenheim managers. ABS Capital and Walter had "co-invested in the Malibu property." A Guggenheim spokesperson in October said that the real-estate deals "weren’t funded by Guggenheim Partners" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 4/16).

The book comes across like Miller "chatting about her life and the lessons she's learned" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 4/16).
