Toronto FC Wants MLS Game Moved Ahead Of CCL Final

TFC is exploring all options in the event MLS denies their request to move the gameToronto FC

Toronto FC is pushing to have their April 21 game against the Dynamo in Houston "moved in order to better tailor preparations" for the second leg of their first CONCACAF Champions League final on April 25 against Liga MX club Guadalajara, according to Kurtis Larson of the TORONTO SUN. The first leg of the final will be played at BMO Field on April 17, and TFC would "prefer to travel straight to Guadalajara" immediately after the game to "acclimatize to the conditions." TFC President Bill Manning on the likelihood of the Dynamo game being moved said, "This is a big moment for MLS. Hopefully at the end of the day we're not sitting around (a day after the final) saying we should have done something." Larson notes TFC is "exploring every option" should MLS or the Dynamo "deny its request -- including sending a reserve squad, stacked with USL players, with an assistant head coach to BBVA Compass Stadium" (TORONTO SUN, 4/12).
