SI TV Moves Into All-Day Programming With FuboTV Deal

SI has reached a carriage agreement with sports-focused OTT service fuboTV, which will carry the five-month-old SI TV on its “Sports Plus” add-on package. The deal adds to prior distribution for SI TV through Amazon Channels, and marks an entry for the streaming network into the virtual MVPD market. With the deal, SI TV will expand into a full 24-hour service with regularly scheduled blocks of programming. SI TV VP/Programming Josh Oshinsky, “This is a very big step for us. We are in active conversations with all of the other major virtual MVPDs, but it’s always great to get the first one done. This is a very crowded market, obviously. But we certainly believe what we have to offer, particularly now as a 24/7 service, stacks up very well in the marketplace.” Originally debuting last November, SI TV features a variety of documentary, studio-based and archival programming. Last month, the service struck a deal for its daily "SI Now" talk show to be featured on ReachMe TV, which is a multi-channel, multi-platform network that reaches viewers in hotels, airports and retail stores.
