Bach said Kim expressed his appreciation for the IOC's role in helping North Korea compete at PyeongchangGETTY IMAGES

IOC President THOMAS BACH met KIM JONG-UN in Pyongyang on Friday and said that the North Korean leader is "committed to having his country participate" in the '20 Tokyo Games and the '22 Beijing Games. The two had a "30-minute formal meeting followed by 45 minutes of casual discussions" while watching a soccer match at May Day Stadium. Bach called the talks "productive" and said that Kim "expressed his appreciation for the IOC's role in helping North Korea compete" at the Pyeongchang Games (AP, 3/30).

FIELD & SCREEN: Red Sox Chair TOM WERNER has "apparently hit another home run in the TV world" as one of the producers of the "ROSEANNE" revival on ABC. Werner said that "juggling his role with the Red Sox and in television hasn’t been that hard." Werner: "I would say my focus is on Fenway Sports Group. It was wonderful this ('Roseanne' reboot) happened mainly during the offseason. I’m excited the shows are finished and looking forward to watching the Red Sox as a fan" (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/1)....Former LSU coach LES MILES is "hoping to transition from a football coach who made cameo appearances to a full-blown acting celebrity." Miles appeared in "CAMERA OBSCURA," where he "played a police officer with one line." He also played an Oklahoma State football coach in "WHEN THE GAME STANDS TALL," a '14 drama filmed in New Orleans. Miles is soon will appear in "ANGRY MEN," a drama "inspired by the Challenger explosion" in '86. He describes his character as a NASA chief named Nelson who is "responsible for launching the space shuttle. Miles still plans on "continuing his career as a college football television analyst" (THEADVOCATE.com, 3/29)....Amazon Studios is "developing a TV series" based on "A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN," the '92 TOM HANKS and GEENA DAVIS feature directed by PENNY MARSHALLWILL GRAHAM and ABBI JACOBSON will "co-write and executive produce what is being described less as a traditional reboot and more as a modern look at the story." The project is being "envisioned as a half-hour comedy series." Jacobson will "not have an onscreen role" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 3/30).

GAME CHANGER: Former MLB Dir of Baseball Initiatives SYLVIA LIND, who co-founded the popular Futures Game, has "embarked on a career as a baseball agent." She has "done it from the ground up, taking on young minor league players who didn't have representation." Lind's firm is called Esquina Caliente, and while she has "attracted Latin players, she also has a diverse stable of clients" (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/1). 

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT: A man who entered the Yankees clubhouse st Rogers Centre "illegally early Saturday morning was arrested later that day when he was spotted at the team hotel." The intruder was "seen by a maintenance employee in the clubhouse" at about 3:30am ET "holding two baseballs in front of AARON JUDGE's locker and taking selfies." Yankees players were told Saturday morning of the incident and were "asked to check their lockers to see if any items were missing." No players "reported anything taken" (NYPOST.com, 4/1).

NAMES: Former Baylor football coach ART BRILES received $15.1M from the university following his '16 "dismissal during a sexual assault scandal that engulfed his program." Former BU President KEN STARR got $4.52M from the university as "part of his departure." Then-Baylor AD IAN MCCAW, now AD at Liberty, received $761,059, "essentially one year's salary, upon his resignation" (DALLASNEWS.com, 3/30)....ESPN's PAUL FINEBAUM will emcee the 50th anniversary Alabama Sports HOF induction April 28 at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel (AL.com, 4/1)....In attendance at the Miami Open men's final yesterday were DAVID BECKHAM and his MLS partner, Sprint CEO MARCELO CLAURE.
