Red Sox Close In-House Secondary Ticket Platform After Two Years

The Red Sox have shut down Red Sox Replay, the in-house secondary ticket platform it formed in ’16 with MLBAM and Tickets.com. The service ran for two seasons. After the club last summer also began testing a return to StubHub, the Red Sox and StubHub have now forged an exclusive partnership for the ’18 season that includes full integration between primary and secondary ticketing and a package of signage at Fenway Park. “While we were pleased to have been able to offer some incremental benefits via Red Sox Replay and did see some success, it became clear from surveys and general fan feedback that the vast majority of our season ticket base preferred that we partner with StubHub,” said Red Sox President & CEO Sam Kennedy. The Red Sox' home opener is Thursday. StubHub this season also is starting a third contract term with MLB as the league’s official resale marketplace.
