Turner Sports Unveils B/R Live OTT Service, Set For April 7 Debut

Turner Sports has unveiled B/R Live, its long-planned OTT service that will include content from the UEFA Champions League, NBA, NCAA, PGA of America, NLL and several other smaller sports properties. B/R Live is scheduled to debut April 7 on web and mobile platforms, followed later this year with availability on connected TV platforms. Pricing for B/R Live is still being finalized, but options surrounding a paywall slated to go up this summer will include the ability to purchase individual events or larger, multisport subscription options. B/R Live will be led by Turner VP & GM Hania Poole, who also oversees March Madness Live (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer). ADWEEK's Jason Lynch noted for the first couple of months of the service, access to all live games "will be free." B/R Live in the summer "will start charging on a per-game basis after a five-minute free window." The company is "working on a variety of subscription options that it will roll out later in the year." Users will be able to "scroll through real-time sporting events, which will be personalized based on their favorite sports and teams." The service will be 'ad supported." B/R Live is joining an "increasingly crowded field for sports OTT platforms." CBS last month "launched CBS Sports HQ," while ESPN+ will "launch this spring" for $4.99 a month (ADWEEK.com, 3/27).
