Cowboys Unveil Plans For Fan Activities Around April's NFL Draft

More than 250,000 fans have registered for a chance to win free seated tickets inside the NFL Draft Theater NFL

The Cowboys unveiled details of their plans for hosting the NFL Draft in and around AT&T Stadium from April 26-28. The NFL Draft Theater will be built on the stadium's field, and more than 250,000 fans have registered for a chance to win free seated tickets inside the space. That represents a 50% increase over last year in Philadelphia. The Selection Square Driven By Hyundai will be located inside the theater, featuring team tables where reps from each club will make Draft selections. The free NFL Draft Experience, with presenting sponsorship from Oikos Triple Zero, will take up an area outside the stadium the size of nearly 26 football fields and will include an NFL Play 60 Zone (Cowboys).

EVERYTHING'S BIGGER IN TEXAS: In Dallas, Barry Horn writes it "appears the NFL and the Cowboys are planning to offer a State Fair-like setting to complement" the Draft. The Cowboys and the league will "offer a cornucopia of attractions outside of the stadium that they hope will keep fans occupied throughout the three days." A "record number of fans well in excess of the more than 250,000 that set the mark last year in Philadelphia, are expected to attend." Mandatory registration for a "chance to be one of the more than 20,000 people each day who gain entry into the stadium's 'draft theater' to witness the selections live" ended last night at 11:00pm CT. Meanwhile, former NFLer Drew Pearson said, "We can show Philadelphia how we do things here." He added, "I pity the team that has to follow us." NFL Senior VP/Events Peter O'Reilly said the '18 Draft "represents our most ambitious vision yet" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 3/15). In Ft. Worth, Peter Dawson notes the free Draft Experience will be "located in the outdoor plazas" of AT&T Stadium. Despite registration for tickets inside the venue now closed, fans can "use the Fan Mobile Pass and receive a personal scan code that will provide exclusive access to NFL Draft Experience attractions" (Ft. Worth STAR-TELEGRAM, 3/15).
