Buyers & Sellers: Nationals' Mike Rizzo Purchases DC Home For $1.3M

Nationals President of Baseball Operations & GM MIKE RIZZO has "purchased a row house" in the Navy Yard neighborhood of DC for $1.3M. The deal "closed Jan. 19." The house "sits on a corner lot about a half-mile" from Nationals Park. It has "four bedrooms, three bathrooms and one half-bath, with 2,671 square feet across three floors." Rizzo's contract with the Nationals "expires after this season," but this is a "move that shows he's pretty confident" he will stay (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/6).

STAYING CLASSY: Former MLBer BRIAN GILES has relisted his home in the Rancho Pacifica community of San Diego and is now asking $6.195M. Giles in '15 was "offering up the home" for $6.495M. The home "sits at the center of a 1.39 acre lot" and fits "nine bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a theater room, billiards room and wine cellar into a single story spanning 11,758 square feet" (LATIMES.com, 3/2)....Newly retired NFL ref ED HOCHULI has listed a pair of condos in the Mission Beach neighborhood of San Diego. Found within a "contemporary beachfront complex," the condos are being "sold separately with the potential for a combined purchase." The upper unit, listed for $2.695M, "offers 1,750 square feet of living space" and "sweeping views of the ocean." The unit also has "three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms." The lower unit, listed for $2.395M, has "three bedrooms, three bathrooms and nearly 1,400 square feet of interior" (LATIMES.com, 3/7).

BUYERS & SELLERS: Former NFLer T.J. HOUSHMANDZADEH is selling his home in the Newport Coast community in Newport Beach, Calif., for $4.195M. Houshmandzadeh bought the home in '07 for $3.458M. The five-bedroom house, built in '06, has "formal living and dining rooms, a family room, chef's kitchen with walk-in pantry" and game room contained within 4,798 square feet (OCREGISTER.com, 3/7)....Former Sharks coach TODD MCLELLAN is selling his home in San Jose for $2.499M. The 3,470-square-foot Mediterranean-style home "features five bedrooms and four and [a] half baths." The home, built in '08 on a 8,700-square-foot lot, has a "two-story entryway, 20-foot ceilings, and hardwood flooring throughout" (MERCURYNEWS.com, 3/2)....Titans coach MIKE VRABEL has bought a new custom home in Forest Hills, Tenn., for $2M. The 6,100-square-foot home has "six bedrooms and eight bathrooms." The home sits "on a two-acre lot and has a finished basement" (TENNESSEAN.com, 3/1).
