Dolphins President & CEO Tom Garfinkel Adds Vice Chair Title

The Dolphins, whose business metrics have "flourished" under President & CEO TOM GARFINKEL, have promoted the exec to Vice Chair, according to Armando Salguero of the MIAMI HERALD. Garfinkel has been a "confidant" to Dolphins Owner STEPHEN ROSS since '13, and will "continue to oversee the club’s day-to-day business operations." Garfinkel joins DON SHULA, JORGE PEREZ and MATT HIGGINS as Vice Chairs. Only BRUCE BEAL, who as Vice Chair and partner to Ross has been "initially tapped to be the team’s next owner, is higher in the Dolphins corporate structure." It is "unclear if Garfinkel’s new title comes with a percentage share of ownership in the club." A source said that the promotion was a "way for Ross to keep Garfinkel with the Dolphins at a time he was presented with other opportunities" (MIAMI HERALD, 3/8).
